Johnes Disease
Pete Orpin FRCVS, the chair of the National Johnes Action Group technical committee, will present
the latest progress with the National Johnes Management Plan.
James Hanks, from Pan Livestock, has been given test data from all of our farms and crunched it to show where progress has been made and where it hasn’t. We will discuss what works in Johnes control and what is most challenging.
There has been considerable progress with the control of Johnes disease, but is eradication possible? Using results and data from our own farms (anonymised!) Pete will show successes and failures and why Johnes Disease still creates a hidden hazard to our cattle.
Winkleigh Surgery
Out new surgery at Seckington Cross, Winkleigh (the site of the old Zukis Café) opens on Monday March 6th. All our services and medicine supplies etc previously provided from Hillmans in the Square will now be provided from Seckington Cross. There is ample parking, better facilities and generally more room. Same people, same phone number, same welcome.
